3/21/2023 0 Comments Golf it vs golf with friends![]() But I like Golf It more because of the engine, how you hit the ball and how different every single shot is. also if you have to shoot and there is a gap in-between you can land 1 meter after the obstacle and the ball glitches through the floor and you have to start again. The Golf It editor is with friends, what about the editor in GWYF Can your friends join there too I would wait how detailed the editor in GWYF is compared to the editor here. sometimes the ball is too short to reach the edge to the next level & sometimes it's way to much power and it goes out of bounds. for example: on the same spot you should uphill with full power. you can do it exact the same way multiple times and it will differ every single time. the bar where you can set the power to shoot is completely random. you shoot in an 45 degree angle on an even boundary and the ball doesn't only NOT bounce in the same angle, it just bounces 90 degrees in the wrong direction. you shoot in an 45 degree angle on an even boundary and one of the worst games i've played in the last few years!! the physics are SO off. For those who wish to hit the links while on lockdown, or just looking for a fun party game, Golf With Your Friends packs a lot of replay value for such a relatively low price. One of the worst games i've played in the last few years!! the physics are SO off. There is a ton of variety in both courses and game types, the mechanics are simple to pick up and the game’s in-engine physics simulate the feel of a real golf ball (or hockey puck) quite well for the most part. Regardless of these minor faults, Golf With Your Friends is a fun, colorful way to experience minigolf in the comfort of one’s own home, either alone or with a group of, well, friends. Also, while the in-game physics are solid for the most part, some irregularities here or there can sometimes cost players a stroke, such as a ball clipping through geometry on occasion. It isn’t all fun in paradise however, as sometimes it looks like the ball is slightly floating on the green due to some shadow misplacement or sinking into the ground. ![]() Some of these are purely cosmetic, but others can affect the way the game plays out due to the physics at play. Players can also alter certain in-game conditions while selecting a game type, such as the time allotted between shots, the course’s gravity and level of bounce or even the shape and size of the ball. While some of these alternate game types, like hockey, are tremendously fun, dunking can take some time to get used to. ![]() In addition to the usual golf, players can also partake in alternate modes such as basketball-style dunking, hockey, a Party Mode filled with different Mario Kart-like power-ups they can use on either themselves or their opponents, or even an Explore Mode that lets them use the Free-Cam for an unlimited time. Finally, there’s a light-up feature activated by the L1 Bumper, which is handy in darker areas. By pressing the Triangle Button, you can activate a special Free Camera Mode, which lets you roam about the course and scope out the path to the hole for a limited amount of time.Īn annoying downside to this mode is that the game still counts moving the camera forward in this mode as charging your shot when you exit it, which can be troublesome if one is too quick on the strike. The controls are fairly intuitive, but using the triggers to zoom in and out might take some getting used to. To swing the ball, players use the Right Stick to aim their shot, the Left Stick to apply power to their hit, the L2 and R2 Triggers to zoom the camera in and out and the X Button to shoot. Just like in the real game, the goal is to get the ball into the hole in the least number of swings possible while avoiding all the different obstacles on the way, ranging from mundane water pits and sand traps to black holes and Caddyshack-style explosives. There are seven courses in total, ranging from your standard grassy golf course to spooky haunted houses, colorful Candyland-like worlds, and even a level based on developer Team17’s Worms series.
